UNIVERSITY OF WINDSOR VIRTUAL YOGA AND MEDITATION

Coco (Nicole Daignault) shares physically safe foundations of Yoga postures and movements. Her demonstrations offer gentle, moderate, strong, and often chair-supported versions of asanas and movements. Weaving breathwork, meditations, asana practice integrated from sequences and inspiration developed over her 25 years of practice, Coco’s classes bring awareness to the ancient wisdom and practice of Yoga.

It is suggested to come to class with little-to-no food in the stomach, yoga mat, blanket, pillow, kleenex.

Like her teacher in India, Coco keeps her students on their toes, never knowing what to expect!


The following descriptions offer a general tone to the sessions offered this semester:


MORNING


“Morning Salutations”

Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:30am-10:30am

The energy of these sessions is rise and shine, start the day with breath and energy, greeting the morning with awareness and movement. Gentle, moderate, and strong variations are taught.


MID-DAY


“Noon”

Mondays at 12pm

The tone of this class is to perk the body up, preparing it to sustain energy and concentration during the second half of the day, maintaining steadiness of breath and mind.


“Take the Moment”

Tuesdays and Thursdays 2:00pm-2:45pm

These sessions can be done seated at your desk and supported by a chair, encouraging you to relax and steady your mind and body to enhance proper concentration and to stretch your joints. Various meditation techniques, including Mindfulness Meditation and ancient practices, are taught along with breathwork, balance and posture.


EVENING


“Evening Yoga”

Mondays and Wednesdays at 7pm-8pm

The tone of these classes is to move and stretch with the aim to calm the body down at the end of the day, for rest and repair. Gentle, moderate, and challenging variations are shared.

The classes for the Italian-Canadian HandiCapable Association (ICHA) are now being offered ONLINE to members through ZOOM!

Wednesdays 4:30-5:30pm

Seated and standing variations will be demonstrated and taught. We will practice breathing exercises, safe movements to strengthen and stretch the body, concentration, memory, sounds, drum beats, all used to generate energy and release blockages throughout the body.
